Day 15 of 100: US$800 dinner for 2 without wine?

 

Yes, Conrad Maldives has the world's one and only undersea restaurant. They only served 6 tables per nite and it is a set menu without wine....it costs about US$800 for 2 persons (again without wine! but a bottle of water  was free :-)

Day 72 of 100: Millionaire's Wedding in New Delhi

Today, I have the fortune to join my ex-boss to attend the wedding of the son of a millionare in India. We arrived at around 7pm  which is way too early for the inidan wedding. The groom was waiting in his white-horse-carriage outside of the venue. It took his carraige an hour to move like 200 m into the entrance of the wedding venue. With this pace, the whole wedding ceremony can easily be a 8-10 hrs celebration. The venue actually looked very nice and everything was decorated with fresh flowers and candles.  From what i could see, it probably had 1000 workers working in the venue!! I got the invitation during my 100-day travel, so it would be very inconvenient for me to bring along a suit & tie so i decided to go shopping for a traditional indian costume.

Day 53 of 100: So you think you can dance? (KL, Malaysia)

Today, i met up with my friend, Dylan who is a recording artist, TV host and personality and now turned Director of a media group in Malaysia. Dylan hosts many travel program for Malaysian TV. His company organized a mini-version of the SYTYCD and he was one of the judges. Therefore, i managed to get a front-row seat and i stayed behind to watch the whole program. Contestants are pretty talented. Check out this contestant. Judges said not only he can dance with his body, he can also dance with his face.

Day 52 of 100: I got my KL Twin Towers ticket !!!

Twin Towers used to be the tallest building in the world. Even thought it longer is, the shiny silvery exterior together with the Muslim-inspired shape of the buildings make it very noticeable during day time. It is true that no matter where you go in KL, your eyes will always be on the twin towers because of the reflection of the sunlight. Don’t think the KL tower lost its sparkles at night. It became two huge spotlights that light up the whole city. The skybridge linking the two towers are open but tickets will only be sold each morning. People started lined up early, like 6:30am even though the ticket offices only open at 8:30am. I had a super quick breakfast at the hotel then took a taxi to Twin towers to line up for tickets. I have been to KL so many times and this is the only time that i managed to get up early enough to try to get the ticket. When i arrived at around 7:45, there was about 60 people in front of me. I was thinking, its alright. It shouldn’t take too long for the line-up because you cannot choose the timing of the visit. Then it should be easy. I thought they would pre-print all the available tickets and when each person arrived at the counter, they just exchange the pre-print tickets with money. No, i was totally wrong. They waited each person to the counter and then started the ticket printing process. It really took me 3 hours to get my ticket for 4pm to visit the skybridge.

 Finally time to go up the skybridge. Actually before this, i had been to the top level of the Empire State building, Effiel tower, Tokyo tower, CN tower and Shanghai World Financial Center. I am actually excited because i actually lined up for 3 hrs to get my ticket. Check out the picture and video for the nice view i got up there. :-)
